Our aim was non-obtrusive interaction with what was already there. For this reason we chose to work with translucent plastic. By using the reflective and transparent properties of same, we created a huge kaleidoscope which acted as a tool to explore and capture the views above,below and indeed all around the site. The kaleidoscopic canopy itself cantilevered out over existing steps down into the river bank and essentially redefined it as a seating and observation area. People could venture beneath the kaleidoscopic structure and be rewarded with the Distorted views of the world above.
