The Downes medal (a premie award for excellence in architectural design) was awarded to Hackett Hall McKnight for The Mac in Belfast. To mark this achievement, we designed and curated an exhibition around this building. The exhibition included a video installation by Henrietta Williams, photographs of the building in progress by Donal McCann, and audio interviews with the architects. At the center of this exhibition were two structures which sat opposite each other. One housed the projector inside a bench. The other held all the construction drawings and documentation for the MAC on one side and acted as a projection screen on the other. The projection backlit the structure and paid homage to the MAC building itself.
